NEW GATES COMMISSIONED FOR GRAVEYARD ENTRANCE

Recently, Urras Eaglais na h-Aoidhe commissioned Dave Eastwood of Ravenstar Forge, Vatisker, Back to construct and fit new gates at the entrance to the old graveyard at Uidh. Work will hopefully be completed by May 2008.

This project has been paid for by the Hebrides Archaeological Interpretation Programme, who also paid for three oak tryptich screens which will house interpretation boards within the completed building. It was originally intended that the gate itself should be 'interpretation' so it incorporates significant names from the buildings past. These names and a selection of images can be viewed below:-
