Urras Eaglais na h-Aoidhe (The Eye Church Trust) was established in 2000 by local people who were greatly concerned at the deteriorating state of the building and the increasing erosion of the coastline in the proximity of the church. The Trust is a Company Limited by Guarantee with Charitable Status. It has two main aims:

• To bring forward proposals that will consolidate and protect the site of the church from the threat of coastal erosion.

• To reroof and restore the church and return in to community use.

The Trust's proposals have been approved by Historic Scotland and an application for funding has been lodged with the Heritage Lottery Fund. It is anticipated that work will continue on the site throughout 2008.
